PCT National Patent Requirements

To file for a PCT national phase in Brazil the following information is required:

  1. Patent Information

    1. PCT International Application Number
    2. PCT international application date
    3. International Preliminary Examination Report
    4. WIPO Publication
    5. Complete Specifications in Portuguese (Brazilian Portuguese)
    6. Title
    7. Abstract of the Invention
    8. Name of the Applicant
    9. Name of the Inventor

  2. Power of Attorney

    Simple copy to be filed within 60 days.

    Once the application has been filed it enters the regular Brazilian patent application process. While carrying out the technical examination the examiner will use the international search report and or the international preliminary exam if taken.
